Continuing Education in Orthodontics
Just landed in Washington D.C. for the annual American Association of Orthodontists meeting. We are excited to see old friends, learn new updated information from researchers, and visit new sites and locations in the D.C area.
Poway Braces & Dr Thomas pride themselves on attending continuing education courses throughout the year – staying up to date on new developments in our field. California requires Orthodontists to attend at least 50 hours of continuing education every two years.
Dr. Thomas typically attends over 50 hours of continuing education each and every year- occasionally teaching courses himself. Is it important your Orthodontist stays on top of new research findings and developments? We believe it is!

Congratulations Brandon!
One of the best things about our job involves watching the transformation of a patients smile. We get to see every step of the way, from the moment they come in right up until the day they get their braces removed.
Brandon really had an amazing change with both his smile and with his ability to close his lips together comfortably. Notice the difference from before braces and after they were removed.
Confusion exists about whether or not permanent teeth should ever require removal (extraction). As this result shows, there is a time to remove permanent teeth. We had 4 teeth removed, close the spaces completely, aligned the teeth, and allowed the front teeth to be brought back enough to greatly improve his profile. This is what Orthodontics & Braces are all about.
